"My therapeutic approach is positive and strength-based. I support my clients to draw on their inner resources and build on their strengths to help them move forward to where they want to be."
What it’s like to work with me
You should know that I’m honest, but I’m gentle and kind too. You should feel listened to, cared about and accepted. I want you to feel comfortable giving me feedback if I’m missing something too.
I’m open-minded and flexible in my thinking - I want to understand how your culture and background shapes your approach.
As your therapist, I’ll be reliable and consistent. You can depend on me being prepared and ready to start on time for each session.
If you can see the funny side of things, we could make a good team because I do like to laugh. I’ll never make jokes at your expense though!
My education and experience
I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in California where I lived for seven years. I am now living my dream of having an online private practice whilst living in the jungle by the beach in Costa Rica with my family.
I have a BA (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Sussex in the UK and an M.Ed & Ed.S. in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of Florida. After graduate school, I worked for a non-profit for single parent families in the UK for ten years, where I worked with teenagers and single parents in some of London’s most deprived areas. I am also qualified as both a life coach and mediator.
I'm a trained EMDR therapist, I have a Level 2 training in the Gottman Method Couples therapy. I have completed a 16-week course in Internal Family Systems. I regularly attend continuing education training to build on my knowledge and expertise.
